I realize this has been corrected but I wish to remind people: the Supreme Court Justices are powerful people with great longevity in DC and spend a lot of time there. They are courted guests in the local social scene. You WILL see them at not just events but parties, private dinners, etc. along with other figures in government.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

/Yawn Sotomayor is a ditz and the latest oral arguments prove that so who the ditz wants to hang out with is irrelevant. She was always going to be a rabid leftist partisan.

Lewk, you're literally one of the dumbest people I've ever encountered. Do you not realize what it sounds like when you dismiss the intellect of someone else vastly more accomplished than you? It just reminds people of how dumb you are.

And Scalia and Ginsberg routinely spent New Years together, went to the opera with their partners...I mean as Fuzzy mentions this happens. It's probably on the balance a good thing that people socialize in the Swamp, even if it can make things Swampy.

Though, without doubting Sotomayor's intellect, I do find her opinions and court commentary the most chillingly "ends justify the means" of all the justices.

I just thought it was funny how Politico pounced on this story and ended up clowning themselves—twice

""We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we've never had before, in serious condition, many on ventilators," she said."

    Like I said - a ditz.

Sure, and Breyer erroneously said there were 750 million new covid cases, while Gorsuch claimed the seasonal flu kills hundreds of thousands of people in the US every year. None of these people are dumb; you, however, are. You're dumber than Sotomayor. You're dumber than Thomas and Kavanaugh. You're dumber than any randomly selected person on the street. Why draw attention to your dumbness? Or your fanatical incel-wing partisanship, for that matter? OG is right—your every post is driven by projection.

Whataboutism at its finest, also someone attacking the intelligence of a supreme court justice and your best defense is that they are smarter than a person you feel isn't too bright? Telling

This is another illustration of your boundless stupidity. My response was not an example of whataboutism—it was an illustration of how asinine it is to argue that justices are dumb on the basis of simple mistakes they all make during such proceedings.

I didn't say I feel you aren't too bright—I specified that you're dumber than any randomly selected person on the street. And your response illustrates my point very effectively.

A simple mistake? Messing up the number of children hospitalized by a factor of over 30x? I could understand a "100k vs. 10k" slip of the tongue but that wasn't the case here. She legit thought this.
