I made it through the month, but my kid thinks I'm a dick

    He might be right
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Yeah. My kid hopefully doesn't think I'm a TOTAL dick, and at least Mom didn't die with no medication, but not going to grandpa's memorial service was rough and even if I made it through the month. . . that unpaid gas bill is really going to bite me on the ass. I also can't help but feel that was an AWFUL lot of calamity for one month. Grandpa dying, Mom almost dying, theft, vandalism, car accident. . .
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

Made it with a few hundred dollars. Filled with unrealistic assumptions, including that I would get fired for speaking with co-workers who don't like me. I even got to send my kid to the field trip! But my car is toast.

    My car got impounded

And I got some dude crashing on my couch
How do you expect to run with the wolves at night when you spend all day sparring with the puppies?

Made it through the month, but lost my car at the end of the month.

Not just a lot of calamities but kept popping up bills from last month (like credit cards), but didn't give any option to roll over any of this months bills by putting it on a card, so a tad unreasonable that.

Anyone remember the very nice article Wiggin linked to a while back?

Had $141 left; but didn't pay my phone, gas, or car payment apparently. Didn't get my kid ice cream either.

Did it again, had $168 leftover and paid every bill on time.
