Had no idea it was even on Rugby is really not my thing, I can't stand the sport but it's everywhere here. The only sport I'm remotely interested in though is baseball.

Yes Tim I've been watching the World Cup but the preliminary rounds are mostly formalities - Ireland were very good in their win over the Wallabies.

How does the point system work? In your image, there are multiple teams that have two wins, but their points range from 8 to 10.. Unless I am misreading it of course.

Teams are awarded four points for a win, two points for a draw and none for a defeat. A team scoring four or more tries in one match will score a bonus point, as will a team who lose by seven points or fewer.

    No problemo

As with most world cup tournaments, things don't get truly interesting until the knockout stage.

England knocked out by a convincing French side, 19-12.

England really aren't a strong enough team at the moment to be champions. Sloppy and full of errors.

So now I'm left supporting South Africa, who take on the Ozzies tomorrow

Ireland, somehow, put out by Wales 10-22

Newzies vs Argies in the other quarter tomorrow.

What a strange game of Rugby the Aus V RSA Quarter Final was - if you didn't see the score you would have thought the Springboks had won (they spent almost the entire second half in possession and attacking) yet at the end...

    ...We Won!

Wales seemingly cheated by France in the semi, 9-8.

Piss poor decision by the ref sending off the Welsh captain for a lifting tackle that should have attracted nothing more than a penalty or yellow card. Not good.

    France into the final.

My fiancée is South African, her friends from home on her Facebook were less than impressed about that match. Everyone whoever they support seem to say the same thing as you did (well minus the We Won! bit )

Aye was disappointing the Saffas went down to the Aussies.

I think the Semi final between Oz and NZ would have been better between SA and NZ.

As it was, it was still a good semi this morning (evening), the All Blacks winning convincingly enough 20-6

So into an All Black v France final next weekend.

And the All Blacks will walk all over the French.

I watched the Aus V NZ semi with two good friends of mine that are both Kiwi's and all week they were saying they thought the Wallabies would win I fully expected the game we got, from the first kick by Quade Blooper to the final minute the Aussies were not in the same league as the All Blacks.

And my two Kiwi mates finally found their voice and are looking forward to stomping the French.
