Parts of the site look all kinds of messed up in FF 3.6.19

I think it's anywhere with a text box... the divs (?) seem to overlap or run together and put page elements where they should not be. If it's a pain in the ass to fix, don't bother - I'll just switch to a different browser - but if it's not, it would be nice to not see text overlapping other text and such.

Actually, it's FF 3.6.x Portable, using the Tor Browser Bundle. I checked on an older version of the bundle using 3.6.17, so it might be the bundle rather than the browser. Either way, if it's a pain to fix, I'll just use a different browser and blame the problem on Bush.

I'll look into it. We recently reverted the forum to 4.1.3.1 from 4.1.4 due to complaints about the new text editor that version contained, and that downgrade messed up a bunch of things.

edit: You know FF is up to 5.0.1 now, right?

Yeah, I do... but the Tor bundle's only up to 3.6.19... guess it's time to read up on the ramifications of dropping a more modern browser into Tor's portable bundle.

I had to jump through some hoops to get a repro (see nothing wrong in stock 3.6.19), but I was able to get one. I don't see anything in the code that's obviously wrong, but since everything seems to be working fine in the default style, I should be able to get it working right in the other styles somehow. This may take a bit, though. I've still got a working smilie popup on backorder too.

Vista at the time of those screenshots, but whatever non-Apple OS is closest at hand otherwise. There's a reason for the Portable browser bundle dealie. And sorry for missing that post of yours... it actually did take like 20 minutes to get that post in, after uploading a couple images at 1980's speeds, with no Flash plugin. It's actually making me start to really appreciate the leaner, performance oriented Linux distros... instead of waiting 15 seconds for a new tab to open, and then 30 seconds for a page to load, it's just a 30 second wait for the page to load. Somehow not quite as satisfying as I thought 33% faster would be, though.

Nawh, nothing like that. Managed to beat back the Zionist infestation of my inter-tubes long enough to remove all the j00ware that was making my monitor spy on me for Mossad. I'd briefly tried going online without a monitor, but that just made it very difficult to navigate online, plus, somehow the j00s were scrambling all the messages and emails I sent when I didn't have a monitor hooked up, so the only solution was to wait patiently.

You probably already know this, but your setup has a lot to do with that awful performance. I noticed when I was duplicating it locally that it completely tanked my speeds. This was the first time I've had to actually wait for internet stuffs in about a decade. I'm really not sure how you stand it for long periods.

Long articles in multiple tabs to read during page loads. And the recreational drug use helps. Legal recreational drugs, but still...
