Thread: A Poll For Men

    Default A Poll For Men

    Self-explanatory. I hope.

15 minutes and no poll....must be major....

    I'm not men, I'm just a man.

Does that mean we men have to form an opinion which we all agree on? I hope it's not political.

edit: Oh I already know my answer: "Whatever movie you want to see Dear "

    A poll for my pole.

Chose the not mess with it one.

  6. #6
I left it private, for those who don't like public polls. But this only works if men VOTE in the damn thing.

  7. #7
You forgot the "No, Imma homo" option.

Not forgotten. Just figured you'd be less concerned about your reproductive freedom and making accidental babies.

I would take something to voluntarily and temporarily be infertile. But I'm not sure I could get a surgical procedure. My parts don't really "go bad"* and I'm not sure I'll be emotionally comfortable with that. Though maybe after more kids I will be sick of it all.

*Granted, the "quality" of sperm arguably declines over time, right?

Clamp it. I don't need or want to be spreading my genes around. Children are a waste of my time, money and resources.

  11. #11
    Use an erectile-enhancing drug?
Well I am not really sure I can answer this question without the need.

I'm going for the maybe, since I'd like to have kids some day so I want something that is safe to my junk and reversible. So maybe, depending on the side effects, and if other men are guinea pigs first.

As for the poll, where is the option for "My partner might not agree with the idea of removing that nutritional supplement from her diet" ?

How many of the regular male posters here would be completely unconcerned with birth control research or its products on account of their homosexuality? Four, by my count, which makes us something like 1/4 of the males who post on here frequently. I suspect we'd skew the poll without an exclusionary option.

Use a drug to be voluntarily and temporarily sterile?

Depends entirely on side-effects, and frequency of dosage/takage

I had to choose the current methods one. Yes, had to. But only because my wife had her tubes tied during her last cesarian. I know it's not 100%, but it's good enough for me.

Is there a typo in there? You aren't a father, are you?

*Granted, the "quality" of sperm arguably declines over time, right?
Not like ovaries or ovum. Men generate new sperm all the time for several decades, while women have a set number of eggs waiting in storage. So to speak.

That's because you've been in a long-term committed relationship. Tubal ligations are quite successful, but it's not like you have to believe a new/strange lover that claims her tubes are tied, for you to feel your spermies are "safe". If neither of you are promiscuous and you're not Swingers, you also don't have to use condoms (for STDs).

Women having a tubal ligation after their second or third C-section live birth is common, and a preferred method of long-term birth control. But many women (who have messed around with all sorts of methods more than half their lives, been poked and prodded, ate or injected hormones, had IUDs inserted, jammed sponges or diaphragms) can be reluctant to undergo yet another procedure.

That's when the male partner can step up to have his vasectomy. It's not only a nice gesture toward saving their partner from another damned thing her body experiences....it also says he's not hanging onto his sperm, just in case he meets another (younger) woman some day, and he's done making babies.

Nice music for that bird dance.

There is another male bird that arranges found objects in the forest, to attract the female. (Too lazy to look it up right now, but it was amazing.) The male actually "decorates" the forest floor with intricate patterns, colors, and shapes. All designed to attract the female bird and her nesting instincts. Distinct patterns and pathways, often using one color en masse (like grey stones lined up almost like a sidewalk) then moving into smaller and cozier spaces that resemble a nest. Using shiny objects like aluminum cans and glass pieces seemed to get more females "looking". But if the overall project was haphazard and last-minute-looking, she'd mate with the guy who showed consistency and pattern. The boy bird who was diligent enough to find one material, and turn it into a masterpiece.

Anyone else see this bird mating pattern on some cable channel and know what I mean?

Edit--they are bower birds, but I can't find what I'm looking for. Beautiful pictures in full color. Any helpers out there?

Another edit---Not quite what I remember, but close enough.
