I posted such a topic in the Legendary Discussion forum over at the old Atari site, and it made for an interesting thread, so I figured I'd give it a go here
And by 'fight' I mean a 'physical fight', so share your story.
As for myself, I've never been involved in such a fight. Have come close but just turned around.
As for the options, take them to mean:
Yes, intentionally: As in you were the one who instigated it
Yes, unintentionally: As in you did it as a response to being attacked first

I just put a short explanation of what I mean by the first two options.
Since sibling scuffles probably don't count, no. But have come pretty damn close a few times, usually because of the dumbass friend I was with starting stuff. In high school came close to starting one myself over a boy, thank goodness I didn't hit the whore. Wasn't worth it in the end.

There was a similar topic started over at DBX (DBZ CC's current residence). Naturally there was a lot of immaturity, primarily people getting a swollen chest as they pridefully would log all their times "not taking shit from anybody". I suspect my engagement to fighting would be much more akin to that of TWF. The last time I fought was as a child, and I feel perfectly fine with that.

Just once, in school, aged 12 or 13, if you can call it a fight, more of a slap or two.
Managed to avoid one, as a student, when myself and two friends were set upon late at night by a group of idiots and punched to the ground - I clambered up on top of a bus stop to escape, and called the cops.

Only fight I got into was in Middle School. I sat in the back of the bus on the way home because the seating was crowded and there was no room up front. I happened to take someone's usual spot, but there was no where for either of us to go. He promptly began pestering me and generally verbally abusing me while the girl(s?) sitting behind us began messing with me and my stuff as well. He was just being an ass, and I finally called him out on it and punched him weakly in the jaw. Stopped all the fuss, and he actually apologized for his behavior the next day. I apologized as well for resorting to violence (it was really a silly situation in hindsight), and we just ignored each other until he moved away.
You people all lead disgustingly non-violent lives.

I grew up as the youngest of 3 brothers in a rather tough part of the world so I can easily remember dozens of fights.
However, the last real punch I threw in anger was over 20 years ago, it is a long story which I won't go into but I basically put a guy in hospital and have spent the rest of my life avoiding dealing with problems by resorting to violence.
It is easier than I once thought.

When i was a kid i punched another kid in the face for telling me to go back to my country, but i was 12 or so. Had it been now I'd just laugh at how dumb he is.
Apart from that, nothing. I can stick up for myself should I need to but I'll never let it come to that - it's not the answer and it's certainly not cool.
To be honest, the idea of having a fight these days scares the shit out of me, not that i advocate it but if someone had to settle something via the means of violence I'd rather see them use their fist. However it's no longer about two men standing toe to toe with fists. People now bring weapons into the mix, even being a 'Good Citizen' and going in to help someone being attacked by a few youths for example is risky business as you simply do not know what they have.
I was extremely drunk at the time, so drunk I didn't realize I was getting into a fight, some people gots no sense of humor. In 43 years that the only time things have gotten violent physically.

There have been many cases in my city of where a person was punched in the head and they either ended up dying or had some sort of brain damage. That's why there's a campaign "One punch can kill". A friend of mine had that happen to her friend, but he survived, just that he's brain damaged and she said that he isn't the same person, which is a scary thought.
Growing up in what some here like to call the "Wild West", I would have to say I have been in my fair share of fights. The last one I was in was unintentional. It was an all out bar brawl in The Jungle, and that was 18 years ago. Altho I considered slapping the fuck out of The Friend's ex-wife when she seduced him back into her bed, I refrained. Mainly because everyone throwing punches gets hurt, even if you don't get hit, your hand/arm still hurts the next day. I ain't into pain!

Aye - there've been a number of well-publicised cases here in the UK of one punch can kill.
In the cases I can remember, the punch has knocked the victim to the floor, and it is the head hitting the floor that has killed, rather than the punch itself.
^^Ah yes, that was the case with the friends friend. The bouncer punched him in the head, and he smacked his head against the concrete.
That is the case in the majority of one punch cases I've read about - the human head can cope with a punch (even one that KO's you) but it can't handle the brain bouncing inside your skull when it hits the pavement. When you're unconscious from a punch you will fall with absolutely no protection - if you were even semi conscious you would at least get an arm or leg or shoulder to soften the fall but when you're KO'd it just doesn't happen.
I recently saw footage of a cop throwing an 80+ year old lady to the ground during a ridiculous arrest and the noise her head made on impact with the pavement was horrific.

Last almost fight I had, I was working as a bartender and a fight erupted, I almost jumped between them but then I realised we had a security at the door so I got them instead

I was in a couple of fights as a kid (8-10yrs old).
The one I had in high school was the fastest ones I was in.
Not due to my skill or the skill of my adversary, but due to the fact that in my utter rage (long story...), I did not notice that we walked right passed the Principal to the bathroom and started yelling and swinging.
I'm 6' and in high school I topped out at 165 lbs, the Principal was at least 6'4" and 220 of lean strength...he picked us both up to separate us...

They don't? The only physical fights I've had were with my sisters. Hair pulling, body pin-downs, nasty elbow jabs, pinching. One sister used to be a biter and scratcher. She once took a pair of pliers to my butt.
Once was almost knived, but at the end of that the other side was bleeding. Once got a shiner out of a situation with an ex that got ugly, but other people moved in too fast for me to repay in kind
I would never count sibling situations as real fights, I'd need a subforum to include all the times my youngest sister and I got into physical fights. Now, 35 years laters we are the closest in our family. And just in case you wonder; yes, we drew blood.
