Or, rather: is George Santos?

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Who isn't George Santos?
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
This is so fracking wild.
I don't understand how this guy ran twice and never got any scrutiny at all. Was it complacency that a Republican wouldn't win? No one paying attention to this area of the country (which is in the largest media market in the country)?
According to his opponent, the media wasn't interested.
Hope is the denial of reality
Aside from the media, who obviously dropped the ball, do parties not vet their candidates?!
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
No. Because they're chosen through popular primaries. The most a party can realistically do is refuse to support its candidate.
Hope is the denial of reality
Faith is Hope (see Loki's sig for details)
If hindsight is 20-20, why is it so often ignored?
Santos’s Lies Were Known to Some Well-Connected Republicans
George Santos inspired no shortage of suspicion during his 2022 campaign, including in the upper echelons of his own party, yet many Republicans looked the other way.

McCarthy meanwhile, looking at his shrinking majority and continuing to question his choice to seek this position. . .

I love this for him
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Don't worry, he's still gonna play:

The first openly gay congressman to be indicted on federal charges and it's for embezzling money to buy designer outfits... are the writers really on strike??
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
And he's expelled. GOP figured out that keeping him was just gonna cost them more seats next year.
