Thread: What game are you playing now?

Personally playing my first run-through as a wizard currently on the second act I've needed to think on what skills to use, where to stand etc especially against bosses. I've died a few times - perhaps playing as a tank is different ballgame.
From what I've seen the wizard gets easier as you play, Blizzard has already nerfed some of their tricks.

watch how the player lights up the Q W E (1-3) keys.

Crazy part is that I'm not trying to play as a tank. My only concern has been using whatever gear gives me a higher DPS, then total life, then protection. Its just working out that in Normal all the other stats are pointless thus far. right click into a crowd and start mashing 1-3, save 4 for the rares.
Haven't used the auction house yet, or bought or crafted anything in town. Although I am leveling them up as I can. I break down the magical items, and sell the rest, and they aren't worth anywhere near the gold they were worth in D2, although gold drops are far more common in D3 so that balances out.

You mean a crappier version of Nethack...
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

By default the numbers and life bars are not set to display, so the feel is still Diablo, but yeah. This is connection required SP WoW.

You can also zoom, but 90% of the dungeons make that view impossible to use, and the graphics are dated enough to remind me of Dungeon Siege.

Not used the auction house, but so far crafted items are better than the drops I'm getting - unlike WoW we're my tertiary black smithing etc seems useless.

I think this has changed because what limited crafting there was in D2 wasn't very useful.
    . . .

This is ridiculous, it's supposed to be better to outsource that sort of thing.

Add my account to the slew of reports of hacked D3 accounts. I was only level 26, nothing important or ultra rare on my account that wasn't account bound. I had a Dial-in Authenticator registered to the account, but its never been used. So I have no idea what the point of it was.
All my machines are coming up clean, last time I used the blizzard website was to register the game, otherwise the only time I've used that pass was to log in, in game. If it weren't for the fact that the only error 3007 solution I have is to join the general chat, I don't think anyone would have had my username, much less any idea I played.

How many games allow SP characters to get their accounts cleared out via hackers? This also likely means no Memorial Day play, so fuck blizzard for that too.

    I've heard that the dial-in isn't supported in D3.

    I've heard the game sucks.

I actually got an email from Blizzard the other day, but I've never used their services...

I deleted it as spam but maybe I should have read it. Was strange nonetheless.

  19. #2089
Blizzard is an extremely popular identity to spoof amongst spammers. It probably wasn't even them - deleting as spam was the right move.

  20. #2090
Ah okay. Glad I did, then!

Turns out Blizzard only allows 2 rollbacks per account, per lifetime. On top of that their rollback points seem spread pretty far apart (I'm going to lose like 3 days of progress), and my account loses access to the auction house unless I pay Blizzard more money and buy an authenticator.

    fuck these guys.

What are your impressions of CK2 so far? I'm downloading the demo now. Wikipedia claims that you can convert a save games from CK2 to EU3, to V2 and from there to HI3, giving you a 900 year campaign

    I've been enjoying CK2

As far as I know there is currently no ability to convert from CK2 to EU3, however Paradoxes active mod community are working on it.

D3 Patch killed the logon and authentication servers yesterday eve it seems, couldn't get past Error 37 and Error 73 to launch the game

I got another one of those "Blizzard" emails, inviting me to a beta test. I don't fucking play WOW! What is up with the spam lately?! (I find it odd this started happening the same day I get the email from Cryptic about their info leak. )

Newegg and Amazon are both offering Crysis 2 for $8.99 pretty sweet deal, but its likely because they just released the Max Edition, which includes all the DLC and extras. I suspect we will see that edition on Steam's Summer (or at very least winter) sale for ~$10.

I'm just scratching the surface so far. It looks like there's a lot of fun to be had as I get to grips with it, but there's quite a lot to learn.

So, due to the latest Humble Bundle, I've got one Steam key for Bastion to give away.

    Anyone interested?
