Mystery gifts aren't always mysterious

I'm heartbroken. And clearly in the wrong thread for such things.
I've been tempted to give up Komrade Kitty as my avatar in favor of that one. It just seems so delightfully representative of me.

Got the tax issues sorted. Our tax services may be slow, bureaucratic and inefficient, they are very reasonable and try to help you and take the rules as loose as possible. Result: the fine has been revoked and got a retroactive tax exemption from 2007 to now. Yay!
Lolli's cup made me happy.
Um Bitters cup even.![]()

Ha, school has been canceled for tomorrow before a single flake has fallen.

Keep that mess down South, okay? I don't want to be stuck in the house the next few days.![]()
I have no interest at all in this mess, but I'm not complaining about no alarm tomorrow morning.

That mess is suposed to head my way. Yay! I love snow!
Found this gem in great condition at grandmas house. Can't wait to try it out. I haven't shot film in forever.
The camera is circa 1935ish.

My undecorating is finished!
I think, anyway. I'll probably find something else Christmassy and think what the fuck, but yeah.
Oh, the garland and wreath are still on the front porch.
But we did it, and I can drag it all down to the basement, and then it's done!

We're getting snow now here too. Take it back lolli, I don't want it.
No alarm again tomorrow.
Earlier my son asked me who broke global warming. It made me laugh. I was going to post it right after he said it, but then I was distracted by other things.

Rain's washing away the ~8" of snow we got last night. Looks like it should all be gone in another couple hours.lolli.
I'm glaring at you.
You'd be dead if you were in my line of sight.

Started playing squash again last week, and again today. Of course, my level is dramatic, but I still beat my friend (who used to be slightly better) 7-0 so far![]()
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
I'm on my 4th supervisor in 4 months. I'm on a roll around here
The county has requested that the library system find a way to cut out 3 million in spending. Meaning that a lot of outreach stuff is getting trashed, and departments are getting merged. The ongoing shuffle is finally winding down (reason for so many fly by night supers), but unknown to me, its resulted in my specific position being up to grabs to who ever needed me the most. The proposals that are included with all this shifting include which staff, and from where, they want to work with, and why. I was included in 3 different proposals, for 3 totally different directions that my duties allow.(do we have an emoticon with a bigger grin?)
The library director had to schedule a meeting between the authors of the proposals to work out where I was going to go.It was between teen duties (gaming, middle/high school contacts), electronic resources (digital books, online reference, phone system, dead man's group), and technology education (deciding class direction, staff educating, and funds management on new equipment).
Found out today that the technology education proposal won out, so I won't be changing my role to much, but I am getting more freedom to teach as I wish, with what I can convince the library to afford. It wouldn't have been my first choice (gaming!), but the simple fact that I specifically was requested into multiple departments... man, that just feels fucking awesome.
I want to take this as a sign that I'm a shoe-in for the Senior promotion thats going to open up later this year, but I'm having to watch that I don't become to specialized and important that they won't move me out of my current position.
Make that 5 supers in about ~5 months, and I figured out why the kids/teen department that requested me lost out to the digital services department that requested me.
The library is getting rid of their stand alone network services department. The position I'll be making a horizontal move into is responsible for our internet and intranet pages, the database subscription access, the catalog database, and other online library specific apps.
I've got some serious brushing up to do...

Happy may possibly be too strong a word, but still, I like it.
