In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Trick or treaters showed up tonight.
    At first,
Then Creeper scared lots of children just by standing up. : D

It's not Halloween. I'd be telling trick or treaters to go away.

Halloween is not the last Saturday of the night, it's October 31. Would they like for me to reschedule Christmas to make it more convenient, too? Perhaps Independence Day, as well.

Lolli, some townships do Trick or Treat on Saturday, and a parade on Sunday. So the little kids don't get tuckered out on a school night.

The same people who pegged Beck's rally at 87,000 pegged yesterday's rally at over 200,000.
Pictures are pretty damn funny too.

I just watched the trailer for the Harry Potter film. Looks pretty good, although I have a feeling it will scare my daughter somewhere near close to death.

I know she's seen a trailer on teevee, she has already asked multiple times if we're going, but this was the first time I've seen one.

Ya, the last two movies will be pretty dark. I guess they will be PG13 by the looks of things. I want to go, but it may end up being Netflixed.

And THANK GOD they won't be in 3D. It's getting overdone to death.

They really didn't have a choice. The story is dark, so the movie is going to walk that line of "to dark to see wtf is happening", and the current process of turning a movie 3D makes the film even darker.

Thats why AirBender 3D sucked so bad, above and beyond the regular version.

The watercompany in Istanbul admitted that there is no logical reason for a €10,000 water bill and are making the steps to cancel it. I already was told that I should cancel the direct debit order at my bank. The formal objection will still be necessary to fix everything, but that appears to have become a mere formality.
    Congratulations America

So, I don't usually go for things you see in infomercials, but....

    The Magic Bullet is awesome!

Got one for my birthday. Wanted it specifically for making my own baby food (which I did today quite easily!) but have also made coffee slushes and smoothies.

They've made 'the boy reporter' look about 12.

    Can't wait though.

Tintin was a big part of growing up.

Lun Lun, a 13-year-old female giant panda at Zoo Atlanta, gave birth to her third cub on November 3, 2010. The cub, born at 5:39 a.m. in a specially-prepared birthing den in the Zoo’s giant panda building, is the only giant panda to be born in the U.S. in 2010.

Lun Lun appears to be providing appropriate care for her cub, which is roughly the size of a cell phone. The Animal Management and Veterinary Teams will continue round-the-clock monitoring of mother and cub, and a preliminary veterinary checkup will be performed as soon as staff is able to remove the cub without disrupting maternal care.

“We are extremely excited about welcoming Lun Lun’s and Yang Yang’s third cub, and proud of the success of Zoo Atlanta’s giant panda program,” said Dwight Lawson, PhD, Deputy Director. “This is a joy we share with the City of Atlanta, our colleagues in China, and our counterparts at our fellow zoological organizations housing giant pandas in the U.S.”

Zoo Atlanta Members and guests can expect to meet the cub in spring 2011. The cub’s father, 13-year-old Yang Yang, and older brother, Xi Lan, remain on exhibit and will not be introduced to their new family member. This separation is normal for giant pandas, which are solitary in the wild.

The newborn is the third offspring for the Zoo’s famous panda pair. Born September 6, 2006, their firstborn, Mei Lan, has lived at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding since February 2010. Born August 30, 2008, the pair’s second cub, 2-year-old male Xi Lan, remains one of the Zoo’s most popular and precocious animal stars. As is the case with Lun Lun’s tiny newest arrival, both Mei Lan and Xi Lan were the only giant pandas born in the U.S. in their respective birth years. All three births have been the products of artificial insemination.

The birth is a significant achievement for global efforts to save a critically endangered species. Fewer than 1,600 giant pandas are estimated to remain in the wild. There are approximately 280 individuals living in zoological institutions, only 11 of which reside in the U.S.

In the months leading up to the cub’s debut, images will be available on monitors at the Zoo’s Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation Giant Panda Conservation Center and on PandaCam presented by EarthCam. PandaCam streams daily, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stay abreast of all things panda by following Zoo Atlanta on our website and on Twitter, joining the Zoo Atlanta Facebook community, and registering for biweekly eUpdate newsletters.

I've finally found a TV for the bedroom that both me and the missus agree on. I wanted a 32in 1080p TV to suit my gaming needs should i be forced away from our living room TV as she watches crap that I won't waste my time with. However she felt that as it's a bedroom the TV shouldn't take up to much space and wanted to keep costs down as we are buying a house. We've been battling for a while now but we both came to a reasonable conclusion which is this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/177050

    For £170 i think it's worth it!

From what I've heard, unless you're going to hook that sucker up to your computer, 1080p is indistinguishable from 720p at that size.

Internal interview tomorrow afternoon, for the position of Group Credit Systems Manager at one of our head offices there in East London.

Mate of mine that I used to work with many years ago advertised the position and asked if I was interested. It's in his team and I'd be workin for him if I get the job. He's interviewing me too, with his boss.

It's a step up from the software projects that I've been developing/leading for the last ten years, so I thought what the hell new challenge and all that.
