Yes, the change title option in the edit post > advanced menus only changes the title as it appears above the first post, not the link to the thread or the title in the tab/browser window.Illusions says we can't change our thread titles. What gives?

Default forum skin. Seems to be a buglet.
Everytime a post starts off with a quote, there is a huge gap at the top of the post before the quote starts ...
What browser and version? My quote post above your post doesn't seem to have the issue in Firefox 3.6

Chrome latest version (whatever that is) at home
Both have the problem on default skin (white + light blue)
EDIT: If it helps things were fine on both IE7 and Chrome a couple of days back, so it was something that was changed in the last few days that did this ...
I am using the default style. Why does quick reply have some style icons (bold, italics, etc) and advanced has none? This is with FF 3.6, which is the latest FF.
It works fine on Chrome - my bad - checked it last night at home. So it's just IE7 with the prob. I can't take screenshots at work (no access to photo-sharing sites from here) but can stick up a screenie tonight if it will help?
I can see it in IE8 compat mode. It looks like an issue that was introduced in the last patch. I haven't had too much free time to look for a fix yet, but I'll try to have something done today.

Your user settings. Go into the User CP, General Settings, and change "Message Editor Interface" to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing ".

Fuck. Ok. Just lost a sweet reply to Dread's China Rant because I got logged out while on a phone call and when I clicked post reply it said "uh uh" and when I hit back my post was toast. This has happened to me a number of times and it absosmurfly sucks. I recall very definitely that in AtariCC when this happened it would let you log in and proceed as though nothing had happened. Is there any fracking way to fix this?

The default is that, but it didn't help people who were transferred over from pre-VB. If you register a new account now though, you'll get WYSIWYG.

Apparently I've been putting threads in D & D, for discussion, instead of General Chat (?)
I thought the home page blog was intended for pointy head academic white paper types of things; D & D was for both Debate (with links and facts) and Discussion (more free-flowing dynamic opinion-based conversations), sometimes with overlap; and General Chat was for random thoughts, jokes, funny pictures, music and stuff.
I knew breaking these up was a bad idea.
What if we just make it "Debate"? Or "Caged Tiger Match"?
