Apart from that being a retarded task to begin with, how does one defend it even? Are there any other (less pathetic) ways than that old tornado building a Boeing analogy, and banana fitting the palm perfectly thing?
If it's part of Debate, they need to learn how to defend opposing positions and strategy.

If it's also how to write a science paper, or make a credible scientific argument, it's probably to teach them what constitutes "scientific data", and what doesn't.

Trying to put a bedskirt on a king bed, and flip the mattress while I'm at it, by myself. Not working out too well but the cats are quite intrigued by this new 'game'.

You wrestling a king-size mattress summons an amusing mental picture. Especially with the cats just watching, intently, as it kicks your ass.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm really not taking advantage of the day.

That a high school Biology class attempts to defend creationism is absurd. How is that allowed?

I don't know. I was in 10th grade 6 years ago, which isn't exactly what I'd call distant past, but I didn't have to do such crap.

It's also Latvia. For some odd reason, the Soviet Union wasn't particularly good at purging some superstitions.

In the group I watched with, only guy was for the colts (it was a small group). He's the only guy who missed that. Changed the whole tempo of the game.

Reading an article by a statistician about causation at 1 AM = not fun.

This weekend, I did some stupid drunken thing that may cost me a good friend, or at least make the friendship a bit awkward.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

    Sucks Flix.

What did you do? Say something you didn't intend?

Or did you try it on with a female friend?

Loki loses his sense of humor after midnight, local time.

We've got more snow coming, about 6 inches more on top of the 2 feet already here (more like 3 feet with drifts). My street is all messed up and almost narrowed to one lane, huge piles of snow thrown at the curb are about 5-6 feet tall. Municipal snow plows keep blocking the driveway. I don't know where I'll throw the snow tomorrow, the walls of white are taller than I am. I love snow but this is frustrating

A little bird told me that I'm, essentially, fucked. Crossroads, complicated choices, all that jazz. It's not something I want to discuss, really. Suffice to say there's a slight chance that everything's gonna be ok, and a huge potential for fucking up one or another part of my life.

I'd love to have a snowstorm blow into this town - its been 70 odd days without rain with clear sunny sky's everyday - it actually gets annoying after a while.

Yeah, we're supposed to get the same thing either tomorrow or the next day...I like snow and all, but not when I have to shovel it and commute through it...

It started here around 5pm, we already have 3 inches. The roads suck. Took me an hour to drive 5 miles (up/down hills). Had to turn around half way up a hill because my little car was spinning its wheels The alt route was the highway, which PennDoT hadn't touched yet. Even the semi trucks were going about 30 mph. What's with the assholes tailgating in this kind of weather?

School is cancelled, the whole town is shut down again....

Try putting some tissue on the dry part of the "pan" (we call it bowl) first. That's an old potty-training trick.

Tomorrow morning when I leave home I won't come back there for 2 weeks, and I haven't started packing yet.
    Congratulations America

All these reminders of TMBG in the happy thread - reminds me of my first real boyfriend (as in I actually went to parties and on dates with him).

It was 9th grade. We went to a party that there were no adults home for. He broke up with me because I wouldn't fuck him and I had to walk home.

Holy crap. I grew up in Ohio, and remember that the roads were fairly kept during/after storms. Get studs (for your tires too if you wish) if they even still do that?

I could use a stud. I weighted it down with stuff in the trunk, should have gotten snow tires tho.

Only school buses use chains here. Got to watch a 4WD truck use a rope to pull a car up one main hill, long line waiting to get a running start.

Reeeeeeee. Tight knuckles made my car go, go nellie go Reeeeeee

    You call your car nellie?

Been snowing for 7 hours now....

I'm eating chocolate chip cookie dough and watching a Sylvester Stallone movie. whee
