Aw, there is a bunny nest in our backyard. I just saw Momma Bunny hop up to the nest and start nursing her babies.

Free night in a hotel with food & drinks paid for next tuesday.

My lady starts a new job in a couple of weeks time as a training and development manager for a hotel chain. Before she starts, they have asked her to have a free night and meal in a hotel to take notes on quality of service, what was good - what wasn't - what can be improved - demeanour of staff etc etc - a mystery shopper.

She gets to take a plus one to make it seem more authentic and less likely for hotel staff to identify her as a mystery shopper and therefore adjust their behaviour.

Cool! You get to be that annoying guest!

Waiter, this coffee is 72 degrees, I want my coffee to be 80 degrees!

    "Can I have a reduced-fat salad-dressing on this please?"

"This wine isn't chilled enough, can I have a colder one please."

"Room Service? Hello. I know it's 1:15 in the morning but I'd like a toasted cheese and ham sandwich brought to my room."

    She's already asked me.

I've booked the following morning off work too so I don't have to get up early and rush off.

Other than the toasted cheese and ham sandwich in the middle of the night these don't seem particularly awkward.

Not especially awkward I suppose. More pressing, or demanding.

I don't know if the word awkward was in her brief.

Mystery shoppers have a requirement to gather as much info as possible on staff performance without arousing suspicion, so will appear to be demanding customers, but without being too out of the ordinary.

Got tickets to see the WC experience Sunday. Since most of you unwashed barbarians never heard of them, allow me to broaden your horizons:

    and their hit:

Amazingly enough, there are still tickets available!

The smoking shelter out the front of my office.

You can hear the little 'uns chirping as you walk past in the morning.

    Winged rats
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

I don't think birds have a sense of smell - the shelter stinks as it is - let alone at the bottom of a feckin ashtray.

Either that or they're chav birds.

    It's Happy Hour.

Birds have a sense of smell, don't they? I always thought birds can smell if humans touch their babies, and may reject them from the nest. So if you ever find a baby fell on the ground, don't pick it up with bare hands trying to help. Is that a myth?

    Yes, it is not true.

But it's still true with bunnies, right?

Happy right now because my sons are really great guys. Despite having some fucked up divorced parents, they seem to have good heads on their shoulders. Had a nice chat with the eldest, while thunder rumbled outside. He's the philosopher. Earnest and poetic, yet troubled in his heart. Searching.

The youngest is going to receive the Citizenship Award at school. He was kind of surprised, since most awards go to jocks or geniuses. He's the pragmatist, but also emotional. Dedicated and earnest too, but not so troubled. Biding time to grow, more than searching.

    Proud mama.

My future flatmate just came out to me that he's bisexual. I'm the first person he's told, so now I feel kind of special.
