eww, that sounds bad. Any time I see "anhydride" or "anhydrous" I kinda gag. Not because I'm a chemist like you, Baltic, but because my ex husband tried to remove a 1930's refrigerator coil from the top by cutting the cable. It spewed anhydrous (something or other) into our house. I felt it outside, when my skin started to burn. The cats were inside at the time. He came upstairs choking and red, still trying to fix his mess. I called 911 and the hazmat team had to don those space suits with closed ventilator oxygen masks.....
they had to set up a reverse osmosis/ventilations scheme thingie, with huge power fans and stuff, closing certain windows, opening others
all the window screens got tarnished, all the houseplants died, and they told us he would have died in another 3 minutes if I hadn't called for help. They hauled the damn fridge to the driveway to spew its anhydrous whatever, and it even changed the black asphalt to grey, and left some corrosive marks like a trail of tears.
He laughed. ha ha. Good thing the kids weren't home, and I could corral the cats before they were asphyxiated.
oh yeah, and he kept the damn fridge. It's now in his house and used as a liquor bar, with bottles of booze and fancy glasses. He's an artiste, you see.
